Minimal intervention to help you get and stay pregnant.

Our Treatment Approach

We deliver health care the way we want it delivered. We offer every patient a free nursing visit to get to know the practice, and provide a dedicated care team to you. We assign you a Primary Fertility Provider (PFP), a Nurse Practitioner, a Registered Dietician / Wellness Coach and a Patient Advocate. Behind the scenes, we offer specialists who can collaborate on your case without needing to book you for a formal consult with them. We focus on saving you TIME, MONEY, AND STRESS.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • Most of Ovum's services are covered by most insurance plans. Our team will verify your specific benefits before you meet with your Primary Fertility Provider to determine what your out-of-pocket costs will be.

  • Ovum Health coined the term Primary Fertility Provider (PFP) to reflect the holistic care you receive from a specially trained physician in low-complexity fertility care. This MD is also in charge of the rest of your care team which includes a nurse practitioner, a registered dietician, and a patient advocate.

  • We have applied to be in-network with every insurance plan in each state we operate in. We have contracts with more than 240 plans across eight states. It takes payers up to 120 days to credential our providers. Sometimes your insurance type requires we secure a referral from your PCP. Other plans require a prior authorization approval for you to see us. We will work with you to ensure you get coverage.

  • Sometimes it's not possible for us to be in network with certain insurance plans because they aren't allowing new providers. In that case, we can offer you an affordable cash-price and help you with financial help through our financing partners Capex MD or Care Credit.

  • No, but it is recommended in almost all cases because each of us has something that can be optimized before we try and get pregnant. And it takes 3-4 months for both an egg and sperm to achieve its healthiest state. We operate under the strictest ethical guidelines and have certain parameters that require improvement to move on to fertility treatment including BMI, nutritional status and glucose control. We will help you achieve success though!

  • We based our clinical protocols on our founding OBGYNs success rates of 35 years, which are 60%. Success is based on many factors, however, including your compliance with the treatment protocols, age and access to the diet and lifestyle recommendations.

  • While health insurance plans cover your medical care through Ovum Health, we recommend using supplements and at-home tools that aren't covered by insurance. These include our sperm testing partner, high quality supplements, and at-home ovulation tools, to name a few. There are no alternatives that are covered by insurance. To the best of our ability, we will provide financial counseling to determine what your out-of-pocket costs will be and offer low-cost financing for you.

  • Ovum Health takes a conservative, step up approach to fertility care. We start with ovarian stimulation and timed intercourse, but if you need IUI, we will send you to one of our partners for IUI treatment. If medicated IUIs fail, we will recommend IVF with genetic testing of embryos. If your age or other health factors determine you need IVF right away, or if you need a sperm or egg donor, we will counsel you on your options and be with you every step of the way.
